'This is your body, your greatest gift,
pregnant with wisdom you do not hear,
grief you thought was forgotten,
and joy you have never known'

Sessions:

Body-oriented Psychotherapy is used to address a wide variety of physical and emotional concerns.

Sessions are conducted fully clothed lying on a padded table, sitting, or standing.

Gentle touch based on the 'Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais method and awareness of the body's energy system is used to help release tension and shift deep holding patterns thus allowing the body to find a new and healthier balance.

Simultaneously, therapeutic dialogue is used to unearth memories and emotions stored in the body so they can be cleared.

The method is respectful and effectively incorporates humour and visualisation.

Working with this alchemical combination of body work and psychotherapy has an impact both on the psychological/emotional functioning as well as physical functioning

The primary method of Body-oriented Psychotherapy that Laura uses is the Rubenfeld Synergy® Method.

It is a well established and respected therapeutic process based on the belief that:

  • body, mind, emotions and spirit are integrally related
  • change in one brings about change in the others
  • we all have an innate wisdom and capacity for self healing
  • the body tells the truth

Training in this method takes four years (www.rubenfeldsynergy.com)
